As far as I can see (and that's not far - it's only 7:30 am!) there is
only a link to www.battery.co.uk in the FAQ. There are no part numbers
for any UK I companies listed.

Here they are for my 3 major suppliers:

Maplin (also available at www.maplin.co.uk) :
3.6v standard 1/2 AA: QE49D
4.5v RayoVac 840 'brick' for Performa form factor machines: UD12N
both are clearly listed as suitable for the relevant Macs.

CPC (also available at www.cpc.co.uk) :
3.6v standard 1/2 AA: BT0051766
4.5v RayoVac 840 'brick' for Performa form factor machines: BT0114666
the 3.6x cel is litsed as for Apple Computers. No details of fitting
are given for the RayoVac cell.

Rapid Electronics (not available online):
3.6v standard 1/2 AA: 18-0420
can't find RayoVac cells in catalog, will provide pt. no. later if I
find it.

I hope the above is useful, pickle feel free to add it to the FAQ
(hint, hint). Dan, I hope that was useful, sorry it took me so long to
get around to it!!
