Heck, I'm still using Pine to read mail on this and one other other account that I've had since around 1991 :) I remember migrating from the "ramva" Usenet group (rec.autos.makers.volkswagen... ?) over to the vintagvw list around, I think, 1993? It caused quite a coup, with listserv advocates on the one side "defecting" and the Usenet holdouts complaining that the listserv would never go anywhere. I held out for a while, not understanding or appreciating what a "listserv" was and thinking that it couldn't possibly be better than the Usenet group. Oy... I recently made a similar switch of opinion from preferring listservs and disliking web-forums (such as vBulletin) to preferring the web-forums (no offense to John Sroka and all you fine vintagvw folks!) ```````````````````'''''''''''''''''''' Dennis Wahlgren El Cajon, CA The VW Boneyard http://members.cox.net/dr.overkill/buggy http://www.sci.sdsu.edu/c-beach/bug.html _______________________________________________ vintagvw site list [email protected] http://lists.sjsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/vintagvw
