I don't know if this has been discussed, but FaceTime is a great app for the blind. Call up someone you know, point your camera at an object, and let them tell you what your looking at. It may be a great navigation tool when you get lost somewhere. Just call up your spouse or someone else who may have some interest in you. aim the back camera around your area, and have them tell you where you are. It also works for identifying clothing and other items.
