I was able to increase sounds using the single-finger upward flick. The volume increased by increments of ten. Wish I had something else to offer. I upgraded to IOS 8.3 right after getting it, so I didn't know if it were 8.3, I have no reason to think so. But the adjustable sliders in, say the Bard app, or Voice Dream, won't adjust, no matter what I do. I know how they are supposed to work, how they work on my other phone, but not on this one. I have removed both apps from the app switcher and restarted them, and have rebooted the phone. I restored it from the backup of my other phone, but I wonder if something is wrong with this phone, being that it seems to be a problem with the adjustable sliders, not a specific app. This is not starting out well with my new phone.
