I have an iphone 6 with 8.3 but vdr sliders work fine. 

Did you restore the data from old phone on it? 
Maybe you can restart or reset with home and power button or, more drastic 
reset all settingsThis would not eraseall data, just set all settings to 
default includingany accessibility customisations, location services etc. Good
