Hi Jeramy,
Rule 1 with the BotVac, never use fluids! Never use the Vac on wet floors
or carpets. So, no cleaning fluid etc. Spot clean is for hoovering a defined
space. There are 2 settings of size for spot clean. 1. Approx 6 foot x 6 foot.
2. Approx 13 x 13 foot. The Bot will clean a square of floor, directly in front
of it and, you can choose to do this once or have it do the area twice for a
more intense clean. I think you could use it for a whole room, depending on the
size of your room, or, as in my case, I might like to give a carpet an extra
doing. For example, I have a couple of rugs, about 6 x 8 feet, if I put the Bot
just central in front of one edge, and press the left, the spot clean, button,
if I have set it to the smaller option, it should, pretty much do the whole rug
and then finish. I might not want to do the whole house, as with the "clean the
house" option. I have some rooms that are smaller than the 13 x 13 size and I
might just want to do that room, I could use the spot clean for that. If I
wanted to do a large room, I could set the bot down at one end of the room, let
it do the larger spot clean and then move it to the other end, thus, doing the
room in two parts.
As for carpeting: I find the Bot to be very effective on carpets. Because
most of my floors are hard, I prefer to use the squeegee brush, but this does
do carpets well too! But to get a bit deaper, I change the brush to the one
with bristles, every now and again. This, I think, is down to one's own
situation/house/pets etc. But one thing is for sure, liquids of any kind,
accidental or intentional, such as cleaning fluids or water, must not be
present while the Bot is working.
HTH, Sandy.
