But my answer still stands.
The phone is ours, and it should be up to us, which features we choose to
use.
I'm old enough to make my own decisions, when it comes to my own belongings.
I don't need apple to keep nagging me, like i am some kind of school child.
If anything goes wrong, then it is my own fault and not apples.
After they have warned us, and we say no, then that should be enough.
Dave.

Hi Marry,
You say we shouldn't be forced to use Face Id, interestingly
enough when Apple introduced Touch Id or enter a passcode I don't recall
people complaining about being "dforced" to use Touch Id. Of course this
mainly had to do because prior to Touch Id it was enter a passcode or
nothing, but Apple has shown that Face Id is more secure by a huge factor
and we all know it has always been Apple's way to give us what they think is
best so there is little point foro anybody to complain, just like with the
3.5mm audio jack, Apple will not suddenly say next year that based on
popular demand they are bringing back Touch Id and in any case, if it was
put up to a vote I doubt Touch Id would win especially now with the improved
Face Id, also unless they can figure out how to let you put your finger
anywhere on the screen for Touch Id, where would they put the Touch Id
sensor. If you follow the tech news a bit you know how much people
complained when I think it was Samsung put the Touch Id sensor on the back
of the phone because they of course also got rid of the home button. It is
my guess that one day phones will have no more buttons at all except maybe
for the on/off button.
Regards,
Sieghard

I am not a fan of face ID. I would rather stick with touch ID. However, how
many times has touch ID failed you? I have certainly had failed me. I have
to enter my passcode from time to time, because the phone hasn’t recognize
the finger that is in there for touch ID. This really sounds like a mountain
out of a mole hill to me. If you think about all the times everybody who has
a touch ID phone has had that not work for them on one occasion or another,
we could string lots of anecdotes together I’m quite sure. So let’s get
real. I think there should be an alternative. We shouldn’t be forced to use
Face ID, but Apple thinks otherwise. Buy an iPhone 8 if you want. But sooner
or later, he will be using something besides touch ID if you want to stay
with Apple.

Hello Everyone,
As you may know, I am not yet sold on the reliability of Face ID.
A sighted friend of mine, a big, big big fan of Face ID is always telling
me
how much he loves Face ID and how well it works for him; to which I
always
reply, "Good for you."
Well, he recently purchased the 10 S Max along with a new garage door
opener
which is supposed to be activated via Face ID, when he approaches his
home.
Last night, he called me at approximately 11:30pm. Since it was so late,
I
feared that he had some kind of family emergency but no; he called
complaining that he could not get into his garage using his iPhone
because
Face ID would not recognize him in the dark, in his motorcycle helmet as
his
bike approached. He said, to his dismay, even when he took his helmet
off,
the phone would not recognize him in the dark.
I could not stop laughing. I don't know why he called me as we have not
spoken in quite some time but I suspect that he just wanted to vent to
someone who would care either one way or the other.
What made me laugh even harder was the fact that he had been so confident
in
Face ID on the new phone that he decided not to purchase a remote control
for the garage door system.
He was so angry at Face ID and the phone that he could not let it go.
(smile)
He sent me a text, today, telling me that he purchased a remote control
for
the opener.
Just another great Face ID failure story, I can't get enough of them,
(Big
Smile).
