That is curious. I would think it should be fairly straightforward for the iPhone to calculate and properly report how much storage each app is using. Keep us posted if you learn what's up. Spurred by your calculations, and recalling that the BARD app stored its content in the app under a previous iOS version and a previous iPhone, I did some testing, and I discovered something surprising: even after downloading three more books, two of which are over ten hours, the BARD app is reported as still taking up only 5.5 MB of storage. However, the total number of bytes stored in the iPhone rose by 300 MB. Perhaps I should uninstall and reinstall the app, or perhaps I should write the developers and ask why the app is behaving in this way. This odd behavior has me curious. I have never before run into a situation where an app's downloaded files are not included in the app's storage area itself, and I wonder why the BARD folks made the app act in this way. In the case of the Audible, Kindle, and iBooks apps, for instance, I'm pretty sure the app's files are embedded where one might expect them. Oh well, life is too short to ponder everything.
