I didn't know the xr had a larger battery. Not long after they came out, I read
somewhere ′I don't remember the source or I surely would give credit′ that the
xs was supposed to have had much better battery life than the xr, but it
didn't, because they thought there were other battery-thraining internals in
the xs that hurt its battery life. They weren't very specific about just what
made its battery life shorter than they had hoped, given its more efficient
display. I just hope that for those who keep their xr phones for a long time,
there will still be parts to repair their displays if needed. I admit that if I
had been replacing my phone this year, that 300 dollar difference in price
would have been a major persuader for me to buy the xr. I hope it won't be such
a difference this fall.

I would agree. Plenty of budget and midrange Android phones still use LCD. I
think OLED is the superior technology though, but that doesn't mean LCD is
obsolete. I've read plenty of reviews recently where side by side the XS looks
better than the XR with blacker blacks and more contrast, but that doesn't mean
the LCD display on the XR isn't a great display. Remember the XR has a larger
battery, 2,942 MAH versus 2,658, plus Apple may not have optimized IOS for the
OLED display and how people use their phones.
