It would be good, Kate, if you could maybe find out from your doctor or some other source like senior center, if there is a low vision support group where yall live or an ACB or NFB chapter, where she could meet others with her problem, which, my guess would be, that she does not want to do right now. Also, someone suggested here contacting your state Human Services to get her referred to the state agency that serves blind and visually impaired. 75% of the brain's intake is visual, and with loss of that, in a way, its sort of like having a stroke, with so much relearning ways to do things you've done for years. It takes a lot of energy for that process.
