May I ask why? If she’s happy without a phone, she doesn’t need to use one.
If she wants BARD books she can get them on cartridges and NLS provides players
so no need for a phone.
What all does she want to do with the phone that can’t be accomplished by other
means?
Would an Alexa be easier for her?

I think I’m stuck on what you want, what your grandma wants and why the phone
is so important?

Everything is completely new to her, yes.  And me as well as it pertains to the
blind community.  As far as I am aware, computers are not her thing.  She is
aware of them but through me only.  I have never been in this position to teach
anyone anything but I am not afraid of constructive criticism and hard work.
She will be a challenge that is for sure.  We are starting from scratch and she
refuses at this point to let someone help her.  I know this is her denial stage
but if I can get her to just pick up the darn phone it's a start.

Are you sighted trying to help your almost blind Grandmother and what is your
Grandmother's ability when  it comes to technology?
Has she been using a smartphone and computers when she could still see and has
an understanding abut basic concepts or would it be completely new to her?
Knowing this would probably help a lot when somebody tried to help out.
