The Bluetooth headphones have to be in pairing mode for the iPHone to see them.

You would have to check how to get it into pairing mode from the manufacturer,
or give us the brand and model and maybe someone here already knows how to do
that.

You also cannot be actively using them with the computer when you are pairing
with another device unless they have the ability to pair with more than one
device and then switch devices as needed.

And, your iPhone does have an earphone port, just not the 3.5 jack. It uses
the same port as the power cable, so you need an approximately $8 adapter from
Apple to connect older style headphones with the 3.5 MM plug to the iPhone.

You just cannot use headphones while charging unless you buy a much more
expensive adapter that allows charging and wired headphones to be plugged in.

Hello Alison, you would want to make sure your Bluetooth headphones are
charged. You would turn your Bluetooth headphones on go to settings and
Bluetooth on your iPhone and see if your phone recognizes the Bluetooth
headphones. If it does, you would want to go ahead and have your phone connect
to your Bluetooth headphones.

If you have any further questions I would be willing to talk with you about
this off list if needed.

I now have a new iPhone that does not have a headphone jack. I happen to have a
couple of pair a Bluetooth headphones that I have paired up with yet. By the
way, you can get an adapter for these phones without headphone jack so that you
can actually use regular headphones on your iPhone.

Take care,

Michael

As my new Iphone doesn’t have a port for headphones, I am using my Ibuds, which
is fine, but today the battery ran down in them. No problem, I thought, I have
some Bluetooth headphones. The problem is my Iphone isn’t seeing them. I know
they are charged as I can use them with my computer.

Is there a way to force/encourage the Iphone to see Bluetooth devices?

Even when I told my Google Home speaker to pair with my Iphone, it told me to
go to settings and then Bluetooth to pair, but my Google Home speaker wasn’t
listed.
