Thanks for that hint. I'm still running Snow Leopard on my 3-year-old Mac mini 
so I don't have the voice for Arabic here as is present with Lion and Mountain 
Lion. I also think there were improvements to braille support for languages 
other than English introduced after Snow Leopard. So this google translate idea 
may have to wait until I get a newer Mac. Out of curiosity, when entering 
Arabic words into google translate, do you have to enter the root or do you 
enter the word you want directly? For example, I use to have access to a 
dictionary where I worked, and to do searches you entered the (generally 
3-letter) root, e.g. ktb even if the word you wanted was a noun based on that 
root, e.g. kitab. Hope that made sense.
