Hi AnonyMouse and David, Plugging into iTunes and turning on VO from there fixed the issue with the screen curtain. It should be noted that you should turn off VO using the triple click home from the iPhone prior to enabling it from iTunes, at least that's what I had to do to get it to work.
David, I suspect that the same icon is being used for both the lite and full versions and that's probably why VO is reading them both the same when I relable the lite one but this wasn't a problem prior to updrading from IOS 5.1.1 to IOS 6.
