Yes, I have used Apple Maps and there are areas where it is excellent,
though no pedestrian turn-by-turn navigation.
Then there are those areas where it is way off.
>From my office to home it is spot on, and I have never had a GPS app that
could recalculate so quickly.

However, we were going to down town Portland to pick up a friend after work
and fortunately, I knew about where the building was. It was an address on
SW 5th Ave.
Apple Maps thought that address would be between Everett and Flanders, which
is Northwest not Southwest.

Also,, part of Portland made it on the national news when Apple Maps came
out because a very large portion of East Portland into Gresham shows up as
an extremely large park.

So, if you happen to be in an area where the map data is good, it is a fine
app.

I would not count on it in unfamiliar territory though, which kind of
defeats the purpose of a GPS system.

Richard,
Have you tried the apple maps? I've heard some people say that they have no
issue with Apple maps. I guess it just depends on the luck of the draw,
rather like Navigon and what it does with Portland.
