Ricardo,

I'm not saying that it will boot faster by using the cable. What I'm experiencing may be a problem with my iPhone 5 because most times I need to keep the button pressed in far more than 2 seconds to get the boot sequence to begin. Whereas, with the cable procedure the boot sequence usually has signaled (made that little beeping) before I get the iPhone set down back on the counter.

Consequently, I personally consider this a feature.
