Hi Chris, Skype pushes for me, when I get a call, and when I receive chats.
Also, the reason why all your contacts are imported into Skype is because they want you to use their calling features for calling other phone numbers. This is an area Viber isn't in right now so it's understandable they are doing it the way they are.
