Glad you like Viber. But i am still not sure that i want to run Skype for iOS all the time. i just prefer apps pushing notifications to me even if it is closed in the app switcher. but that's just me. maybe wen i get a new iPhone than the 4 this may change. But for now i will keep them both and use Viber primarily over Skype.

i tried Viber today and am really satisfied with the accessibility
effort they have put in for IOS. i would like to see a couple things
getting improved in future updates:

1. the scrub gesture to get back one screen
2. ability to remove unwanted contacts from Viber contact list.

I can confirm that this is possible.

Thanks! May reinstall Skype for iOS then as I thought it did not support
push at all, hence me deleting it. But before I do, can I have Skype
running, then lock the phone and still receive push?

Yes, Skype has to be running, which I personally prefer as there are
times when I don't want to be available on Skype. I also don't want to
give my phone number to everyone.

Also one big advantage Skype has over Viber is that the Windows versions
and Mac versions of Skype are accessible, but the Windows and mac
versions of Viber are not.

Thank you Jonathan oh so perhaps Skype only pushes these when the app
is open and or in app switcher. Well I prefer push notifications even
when the app is closed to save on battery, resources, etc. And thank
you for making the import contacts feature clearer. Didn't give that a
thought to be honest.

Hi Chris, Skype pushes for me, when I get a call, and when I receive
chats.

Also, the reason why all your contacts are imported into Skype is
because they want you to use their calling features for calling other
phone numbers. This is an area Viber isn't in right now so it's
understandable they are doing it the way they are.

Ok, I can actually give out two compelling reasons to try Viber.
1. It offers push notifications compared to Skype.
2. Unless specified otherwise, only contacts that use Viber appear in
your list. With Skype you can import your contacts, but all will be
shown regardless if they are using Skype.
Just my observations anyway.

Well, I can't help you on that one, but maybe you can have it as
another
option along with Skype like I have. For example some of us are on
Skype, some are on Viber, others may be using both.
