in response to the other poster here, any device can be infected by more than just an app from the app store. there are crafted emails, coded websites and even text messages that can lead to an infected device. Your best bet is to research the applications carefully before downloading. as for the other issues, safe browsing habits and proper security consciousness can prevent a lot of problems.
