Hi,

Rolling your finger when scanning your finger makes all the difference in
the world. You never will be able to touch the scanner exactly in the same
place or at the same angle.. The system needs to have a large enough area
of your print to work with.

Not experienced that issue. FWIR, when you program in your finger, you are
supposed to roll it slightly, not sure how much difference that makes. But,
my finger works on my phone consistently as well as on my wife's phone.

Subject: Touch ID only works for a couple of days

Dear listers

I heard on a recent iFive podcast someone saying that this was an issue for
them and asking if anyone knew of a solution. It's the same for me too so I
was wondering if anyone on this list knew if this was likely to be fixed
with a firmware update. I can program in a finger or thumb and it works fine
for a day or so then it doesn't work - not even a small percentage of the
time - it just never works thereafter until I reprogram and then it works
100% of the time for a day or so.

Any comments welcomed, Robin.
