The finger used to make the print shouldn't make a difference. That's all a matter of preference. When I set it up originally I used my thumb about 3/4 of an inch below the tip. I've never had a problem and have been using this since the phone was released. The problem is perplexing however. It makes no sense that it would work for a day and stop.
