Guys I have been following this thread with interest. I am about to have my central heating replaced and was concerned about the accessibility of the controls.
However, I am in the UK and we don’t seem to have any of these talking thermostats people are referring to. I have no idea whether a US thermostat would work here or not. I did find some so-called “smart” thermostats which can be controlled by iPhone, but I was trying to find out if any of these iPhone apps were accessible. One of them was made by Honeywell, at least a brand I recognise, but when I asked them if their app was accessible, they didn’t know. I am copying their full reply below as I found it a stunning example of how to say you are answering someone’s query, while not being able to be bothered even to find out the answer.
