Hello Miss Adrienne (got that right, didn't I)? *smile*

I am not sure if the Honeywell app is accessible, I seem to remember
something that it may not be, but can't be sure.

As for whether the Radio Thermostat would work in the UK is probably a
question you have to ask your heating professional/installer. I can tell you
that it works off a 24 Volt line which furnaces here in North America have.
I think if you asked whichever company you deal with to check out the
www.RadioThermostat.com website they would be able to tell you from the
specs whether it would work. You may also get an answer if you send a
message to the Radio Thermostat company and they might be able to tell you
as well where in the UK you can buy one.

I just clicked on the Contact Us link on their website and they give an
email:

[email protected]

There is also a toll free number, 1-877-602-5028. If you use Skype you can
call this number at no cost to you from England.

Good luck and Merry Christmas,

Sieghard

Subject: Thermostats, talking or run by iPhone, name and model and where?

Guys

I have been following this thread with interest. I am about to have my
central heating replaced and was concerned about the accessibility of the
controls.

However, I am in the UK and we don't seem to have any of these talking
thermostats people are referring to. I have no idea whether a US thermostat
would work here or not.

I did find some so-called "smart" thermostats which can be controlled by
iPhone, but I was trying to find out if any of these iPhone apps were
accessible. One of them was made by Honeywell, at least a brand I recognise,
but when I asked them if their app was accessible, they didn't know. I am
copying their full reply below as I found it a stunning example of how to
say you are answering someone's query, while not being able to be bothered
even to find out the answer. Certainly beats badly translated Italian:)

So, does anyone know if the Honeywell app is accessible? Maybe we could let
Honeywell know.

Best

Adrienne

PS And they got my gender wrong as well.
