Depends to a degree on how your phrase the problem. Let's fondly revisit
the good times, pre-WMD, when the double-talk coming out of high places
was the "meaning of is" shtick ... and to borrow some of that - in this
case it would related to "where is the 'in' of 'in there' ?"
If we accept the wave nature of the electron and the photon, is not some
kind of intrinsic duality and overlay possible - which accounts for the
"in"? We all appreciate the reality of Bremsstrahlung, right?
Is not one interpretation of that phenomenon that there was always a
virtual photon "in there" ....
