interesting assumption, notice Pam and Ed
are not funded at levels needed to work at the nano range either – at least to
my knowledge. The same with George.
Your assumptions are misplaced.
Notice also, several groups have visited my lab –
including Navy, Air Force, NASA, two large corps, and
a few university types. Your assumptions
are incorrect. You also seem to assume
that I seek large funding and working for others…. That is also incorrect. That
kind of work is better for large national labs. I am working on one small
project for a third
private party and have had offers from others, however I do not seek to be
funded by large corp or government types.
The last funding by government types (Navy) was a disaster (they had
preconceived
and incorrect views of approaches to take that just lead to two years of wild
goose chasing) as was a moderately funded effort to check a Ni/H gas approach…
it just wasted years. It has totally "turned me off" to government or large
projects. I even got notice last week that some of my "explosive" work for the
Navy has now put me at risk to identity fraud due to the government posting
Soc. Sec. numbers of consultants. Some Obama Administrator seemed to assume
that all the high level security work was only done by corporations with TIN's
and not individuals.
Years spent following your dreams are never wasted
even if you are not honored or remembered.
It is the journey in life that is important not the destination. As we say in
chess: at the end of the game
both the pawn and the king go into the same box.

I also am afraid that the time for individual work in this area is about over.
I have done most of the experiments that are within my equipment and budget
range. The key is in the materials and I just don't have the resources for
that game down at the small scale where work needs to be done. . . .
So I will let them do what they do and I will slowly do things at my own pace
and hope for the best. I have a few long shots that I need to try in the lab.
I will try to have my fun and let the "big boys" with big money do the big
things.
I understand your frustration, but I cannot understand why you take no steps to
get proper funding. You say you have seen promising results, and I certainly
believe you.
You need to write a professional paper. You need to invite qualified experts to
your lab. You need to solicit enough funding to do the research properly. If
you will not take these steps, your work will be forgotten, you will have
wasted 20 years, and you will have no one to blame but yourself.
Ed Storms, Pam Boss and others have published and done their best to persuade
others their work is valid. If they are not funded, the decision makers in the
Navy and elsewhere are to blame.
Seek and thou shalt find; ask, and it shall be given unto thee.
