Finance is a good school. It can live sometime in a bubble, but bubble always collapse. it is complex one power more than poker, much more than Chess or even Go. It is full of long proven false dogma, of sterile battles between schools of wrong, and anyway it is used since long even by primitive societies... Models are abused to create precisely false models, used to push policies, politics, ideology...
For me it is a school who allowed me to understand climatology, cold fusion, politics... I understand why taleb is taleb... because he is of a culture of traditional oriental finance , but worked in the most modern and corrupted finance. Like Kuhn seems to be, Taleb loves to shock, and on some details he may be wrong, but like a bulldozer he opens new roads. 2013/10/4 Peter Gluck <[email protected]> > I recommend to all my friends to read > http://egooutpeters.blogspot.co.at/2013/10/ways-6-teacher.html > It is a paper from a series authored by my Blog associate Georgina > Popescu.
