Knowing professors as I do, I expect they are procrastinating and attending to a dozen other projects. I expect they have no sense of priority. In the middle of a project they will go off somewhere to do something unimportant. I have seen cold fusion researchers publish years late, or never publish at all. That is why the ICCF proceedings are so slow. - Jed
