I'm very fortunate in my wife's attitude toward my fishing.  She agrees with 
me that I don't get to go often enough, and encourages me to go, because she 
likes me to be happy.  When the weather is nice and there is a fairly certain 
chance of getting fish, she will go along, which means we don't fish together 
too often.

But if you (and your partners) want to see a really wonderful, romantic 
picture of one wife's coming to understand what our obsession means to us, 
look up the May '97 issue of Gray's Sporting Journal and read the article 
"Catching On: A wife learns the "fly fish song".  I'm VERY biased, but I 
think it does a great job of capturing the essence of our sport, and the 
essence of a partnered marriage.
