I am new to this list, and am an avid bird hunter as well as fly fisherman. I say this
only so you know I'm comfortable with guns. I can see carrying a gun if you fear for
your personal safety.... bear, moose, hillbillys.....but if the point is to protect
your "stuff" I don't agree. Pulling a gun MIGHT get someone to stop in the act of
burglarizing your vehicle, which would save you the hassle of dealing with the police.
But it might not stop them. They might have a gun themselves.....you might have to
shoot them, or you might get shot. Those are hassles I can live without......I'll and
take my chances with the insurance company and the police.
