Richard, I have to respond to this to defend the honor of Spangle. Dang it, it is in the middle of no where and there is some good fishing around! Lol!!
<<But, I do admit that I usually don't fish in remote areas or near Spangle . . . (I realize that's a redundant comment)>> In all seriousness, I tend to fish a lot off the beaten path(no Spangle jokes!). I have not had a problem in most of the area's I frequent. I do know that people looking for trouble will seek out the back roads and quiet area's. I had two fella's try to corner me on a back road near Fairfield early one morning. I guessed what they were trying to do and made a run for the town. They chased me all they way into town but got cold feet once I parked under a street light on Main St. I considered applying for a concealed permit after that experience but didn't follow up on it. Now being from the styx and living in Eastern, WA there are many times I have a rifle or shotgun in my truck but have never had reason to pull one out. Knock on wood. Mike
