You can use epoxy and still remove the tip-top if needed. As to why you would need to remove a tip-top, the only reason I can think of would be to re-use it if you had to rebuild the tip section.
Speaking of tip tops... I have been toying with the idea of not wrapping them as I just don't see the point of wraps at the tip-top other than aesthetics? Any other opinions?

I was discussing this with another lister, and I got the same advice fromafly shop, why not just use epoxy on the tip? Why would I ever want to takethe
it off? Any ideas why you would want removable tips?

You can use glue gun glue, but quite frankly its the melting point that is
the
big deal. You want to remove the tip without melting the blank. The amber
stuff meets that test, so does 5 minute epoxy, which is commonly used in
rod building trade.
