Perhaps the question wasn't phrased properly... If TVLAND owns the rights to
the character Barney Fife, but the Knotts' estate would have to approve a
likeness of Don Knotts, then perhaps the request should be to put up a statue
of
Barney Fife, a fictional character..........
It seems that a "likeness" goes on lots of things, the trivia game,
t-shirts, lots of items at Weaver's....Wonder why it is any more of a problem
to put
up a statue than to use the likeness on a shirt, game or whatever that will
probably be seen by even more people?
