Dear Mayberry Friends. We are very sad to announce that the Don Knotts Statue project has come to an end. Due to a mix up at CBS, they have decided to decline on placing a statue of Barney Fife in Mt. Airy, NC.
We sincerely thank everyone for your support and donations. Because of the $7,000 non-refundable deposit we put up for the statue we will have to sell the Mayberry Squad car and cart with proceeds going to refund any donations. There will be a plaque placed in the Mayberry Kountry Kitchen Diner in Mt. Airy with the names of those who tried to bring Barney home to Mayberry. Again, thank you for your support.
