According to an article that was in the Winston-Salem Journal over the weekend, 
CBS, the Knotts' Estate, and business associates of Andy Griffith were all 
opposed to it.  I just don't understand.  If it was going to be tastefully 
done, put on public display, and no one was going to make a profit on it, then 
why would anyone have a problem with it?
 
As for the folks who tried so hard to make it happen, I imagine they've got to 
be thinking..."You try to do something nice and what do you get?  
HEARTACHES!...NOTHING BUT HEARTACHES!!!"
