Yes, I do have a copy Apache for Windows but in doing some Google searching it seemed there were many issues cropping up on configuring it. I have this fear I will install Apache and all sorts of problems will start popping up and I will be worse off than I am now. At least now-- although my methods are kludgy--things are working! Some of these other servers promised out of the box functionality. I admit-- I am a sucker for the marketing hype! But that is why I was asking on this list--trying to get some reality into this process.
So how hard is it to configure Apache? Easy for a newbie? I am not a programmer although I can usually muddle along pretty well for an amateur. I can see myself getting in way over my head. Janet, Have you tried Apache for Windows. It's pretty easy to install and you can be up and running in no time. And it's free. Once you have it you can extend your server knowledge at you ease.
