Turn them from read-only to archive status maybe? Start > Run > command (it's something different in XP, maybe "com"?) > and navigate to the directory, or open the folder up and start the DOS window with just that window open, it should start automagically in that directory. As a matter of fact, go one up because you can mass undo those with the "attrib" command and do a whole directory with the "/d" parameter.
