A search engine will just go out and spider the site. If there are not pages to
read then nothing will be recorded (or worse).

I have my own (very bad) spider on my site. I just read the page you give me
rather than read everything on the site where it can find a link in a page. I have
written some of those as well -- and will soon put it on the site. Here is an
example of a script that will read and then index the specific page you give it:

But if you put your page in my site with nothign there then it would index
nothing. And you could not do it again because it first checks to see if your site
has been entered -- but I should take that out (or at least do a count).
