I hardly have time to read much anymore.  I looked but I saw no post from you 
with Amazon in the title (I must be selective with what I read, and ...and even 
what I respond to).

If they are spending everything on growth, marketing etc. then it's not so bad.

Hey, did you all hear that Boardwatch was bought by Mecklermedia?  
Boardwatch is the only magazine I pay to subscribe to and just about the only 
net related mag I read (other than internet world and info world is really much 
wider in scope).  I think Mecklermedia is doing a good job on the net. And I 
really like Zdnet (liked them back in the days of compuserve -- anyone want a 
copy of Navcis?).

What about smaller bookstores? Are any of them really making any money 
from a website?  I have not liked most of the ones I visited and never bought 
from any of them. I did order some linux cd's from an online store but the order 
never arrived. Oh well.

I will have to visit the laissez-faire website and see how theirs is.
