Ditto. I was using the back button earlier today to go back to a site that
was around 5 or six pages back and got jammed at one of those autorefresh
splash screens. Couldn't get past it without selecting one of the history
items earlier in the list. Someone mentioned this as being another reason
not to use them and ironically I was annoyed by one today.
I must admit, however, that I have, in the past, created one. It had a
snazzy animation on it and the client liked it. Actually, the client
"demanded" it and I didn't feel like arguing with him any longer: he had
already made so many bad suggestions that I had to talk him out of that I
was getting tired of him when he started with the animation thing. I just
gave him the animation, tried to get done with the project as fast as
possible and pretty much cut him loose. One bad idea that never came to
fruition: animated guy on a horse wearing red white and blue waving a cowboy
hat. Relevance to his business: 1%, if you're very imaginative.
