No. I earn a monthly commission on anyone that *signs up* for hosting
service through my site from MPC. "Just looking" hits do absolutely nothing.

I think what Adam meant was that *if* you sign up for the service from *my*
site, you would be in my downline.

The number represents the Independent Rep's ID#, so logically, if you
change the number, you are going to be taken to a different Rep's referral
page. Everyone signing up for hosting service with MPC is assigned an ID#
and can refer others to the service through their own self-replicated (or
cgi generated) page.
>Hence, "if it looks like spam and walks like spam it must be

"Spam" is "unsolicited" email, period. Where or when did you ever receive
*any* unsolicited email from me? I sent a response to the list in answer
to a question presented to the list by another member. My response was
based on the quality of the service I recommended and not on whether I
would make anything from it. If you sign up for a service that you
consider an exceptional value for the money, would you refrain from
recommending it to others just because you might earn a commission from it
if they take advantage of it, too? Why not cut off your nose to spite your
face? Same logic.

That is totally absurd! You can't be named as a distributor without
becoming a customer or filling out a form requesting it! They require your
SSN before you can resell the service. Is that some kind of threat I'm
reading above? I only recommended the service because someone requested
the information and I believe it to be the best value for the money. If
anyone gets "bombed" because of it, the "bomber" is most likely the one
that will suffer the consequences (most likely losing their ISP account.)
