tenderlovingcare.cc is on CDSnet.net in Medford, OR, a Unix server. I've
always heard that our backbones out of the Rogue Valley here in southern
Oregon is slow, so that no matter the host, web serving will be slow.
DakotaLights is on WiseEarth, an NT server than a friend of mine runs
quietly on the side as a freelance project (so there's no homepage). She is
also the tech support person for WebRing, and her boyfriend manages
WebRing's servers. They recently moved WebRing and WiseEarth from San Jose
to a colocation site somewhere in Dallas. With the heavy traffic WebRing
gets, I'm sure Eric would have researched his colocation site very
carefully. I believe that they said it's in the same building or "right on
top of" a major MaeWest hub. (Forgive me if I have technical terms or
spelling wrong, as I'm talking out of my ear and truly have no idea what
I'm talking about.)
I'm trying to talk the client into switching both his domains to WiseEarth.
I have two other sites there and have been very satisfied. At $25/month for
a domain site, can't complain about the price. If anyone is interested,
