Thanks to Brent, Michael, et al who wrote poignent and pointed essays
about the issues raised by the intial poster. 

I put in my two-cents on that post -- and was then royally flamed
OffList -- and didn't have the energy (this time) to expound onlist. But
I'm very glad that ya'll did.

I also appreciate the "luck" that I have to have a long-term contract on
the Boeing intranet -- yes, I'm still doing some 'outside' work -- but
most of my work is inside this environment. I don't have to work new
clients with regularity (thank goodness) but Tamara's note reminded of
what it can be like. <hugs delivered south>

This is an incredible group -- I'm constantly impressed with the depth
and breadth of talent ... AND ... everyone's willingness to share, admit
they might need help ... and then say "thanks."

And a HUGE ditto to brent's comments about "pseudonames" -- coupled with
aol.com -- <shudder> -- and no sig line!
