It's not about design.

What will it do?  I don't care what it looks like, how fast will it 
go? 

Zen and the art. The look vs. the use.

Communications.  The web can be and is sometimes about 
communications.  Buying and selling. Writing and reading.

I use websites that teach or inform.  I use them.  

As I have said so many times in the past, many people don't use the 
web, yet they critique it.  They are impressed with how things look; 
they don't care about the use issue because they don't use it.  

I work at an ad agency.  I am the programmer.  I just talked to one 
of the designers after he came back from a "concept" meeting about a 
website. I asked him about it.  I listened. I then asked what I could 
do at the website.  What could I do? Why would I want to do it?  How 
would it benefit me?  Would I want to come back?
