Yes, I've already sent a response to this post, but that line is still
resounding in thy brain. Reading your post makes me think that the company
does not know it's target market, does not have a company identity in print,
and doesn't know how they are going to market their product(s). In my
experience, when a company doesn't know those things, then they will ask
their "web designer's" advice, which can mean that you may suddenly be
wearing many more hats than you anticipated. Judging from what I've seen of
your background, connections and talents, you can probably wear many of
those hats, but listen carefully to your client while determining what role
you will be playing (and therefore how long the project will take, how much
it will cost and how many different limbs you will need to use at once.)

You may end up as the funnel for all their ideas, since it sounds like they
might not have someone at their organization who is doing that. You can
either define yourself as their "web designer" and define exactly what that
means, or you can start putting on extra hats. Just be sure that you're
making those decisions consciously, rather than just taking them on as their
off-loaded from your client.
