There are a number of resources if you are looking for someone to buy your
banner space, but I don't know of any resources the other way around (would
likely be a very long list). There are a couple of networks that I've worked
with, but my brain isn't awake yet. If you remind in email, I'll go through
my info and find the web addresses for two ad networks you might try.

Your best ad buy would be on a site that attracts the kind of people you want
to attract. How you design your banner will depend on whether you are paying
for impressions or clicks. If you are paying for impressions, then the idea
is to get as many people as possible to click. If you are paying for clicks,
then you only want those who are likely to be interested in your products.

I would suggest paying for clicks if you are putting the banner on a site
that gets a lot of traffic, but not necessarily targetted to your products.
I would suggest paying for impressions on a site that would have a higher
percentage of people interested in your products.

Many sites only have the one option. Do the calculation. Most banner ads
get between 1 and 3 percent clickthrough. Targetted ads can get 7% or more.
