Hm. I'm not really one to be dispensing marketing advice, as it's not my
strong suit. But I will venture some comments on the site structure and
content generally.
Overall, I found it just a little too spare and low-key, although old-timers
here will know I'm generally a big proponent of clean, uncluttered design...
but one can overdo that, I think. This applies particularly to the opening
page, which just didn't give me any clear idea of where I had arrived or
what I was there for.
I would make this initial page more visually interesting and aggressive,
particularly since this is a one-shot effort. If you don't grab potential
clients' attention from the first moment they connect to you, you won't
have another chance. Do something a little surprising technically or
visually, would be my advice. Generic comments on the growth of the
Web just don't set the tone or command attention, IMO.
Structurally, I found it temporarily confusing that the two "home" pages
are numbered, while the others aren't. I initially assumed that there would
be only two pages on the entire site, which is what the 1 | 2 numbering
implied to me. But clicking on subsequent links takes me to pages which
look exactly the same as the home ones, except for the lack of numbering.
A little inconsistent.
Finally, I don't think it's critical that this "mini-site" be encompassed within
your regular site, but I do think you should have links to work you've done.
It was slightly frustrating to find, on the Clients page, a simple unlinked
text list: my initial thought was, "Huh? Why don't they want me to see
the work they claim they've done?"
One final and trivial point: in your sig line you ask "Are you a NYC
interactive shop.." Now, whenever I've heard Noo Yawkers refer to the
city by those initials, they've spelled it out: "I'm from En Wye See." Which
would mean the question should be "Are you /an/ NYC interactive shop.."
Kinda like we'd say up here, "He's an Are See Em Pee officer", not "a RCMP
officer". Though I stand to be corrected on this point by residents of The
Humungous Apple :)
