I must be very thick-skinned because I don't believe I have ever 
received a flame although you can be sure I have asked some dumb, 
simple questions; we all have.  

And I think actually telling someone to read a book or ... do 
something constructive is GOOD.  I never mind someone taking the time 
to tell me I have made a mistake.

I find this list to be one of the most easy-going.  You should see 
the perl usenet groups (a lot of it is just funny).

But there should be a FAQ for this group and it should be posted in 
every email.  Otherwise I do not think you could ever flame the 
asking of a FAQ.
