Well, OK, maybe a teensy bit off-topic, sorry, shoot me if you must ;-)

I have an Epson Stylus Color 1520 color inkjet printer ... very useful
printer, by the way, prints decent color up to 1440 dpi resolution on
paper up to 17"x22" (US "C") in size. I use it frequently to print up a
short run of flyers on US "B" size (11"x17") paper, which then get folded
one way and then the other way, taped, stamped, and mailed. Works great.

What I need is a good graphics-and-text program to use to compose the ads,
also to compose larger posters on 17"x22" paper

The program needs to be able to place graphics (GIF/JPEG) anywhere, in any
orientation, and have good control over where the text goes and how it
flows around the graphics.

Microsoft Word is what I've been using up to now but it's a little limited
in the ways that it can place graphics or flow text, or maybe it's my
understanding of it that's limited...

So maybe something like Pagemaker, Quark Express, Corel Draw?

Oh, yeah ... another thing ... it would be really, really, REALLY
double-plus way cool if it could read a Microsoft Word MailMerge file and
place addresses in the right place.

Any suggestions most appreciated...

 . . . . . ep
