I have no idea what the local (and only) ISP offers, but Dad never got past
the gal at the front desk who, I'm sure is programmed to say, "You have to
have Windows95." Dad doesn't know enough to question or argue--I'm going to
have to make it easy for him. At 78, I can't expect him to suddenly master
Internet technology issues. ( I must brag that even though he's 78, he has
wired over 30 Habitat for Humanity houses since he retired at 65. Not bad
for an old guy.)
Several folks have suggested that we buy him a cheap 486 box, but he
already had one for awhile that my brother gave him, and it ended up in the
closet floor after losing out in ease of use to Dad's dedicated word
processor. The imac, also suggested, is a little beyond our budget.
Besides, if I bought him one I doubt I could bear to part with it -:)
BTW, does anyone know any about prices or dealers for the Teknema web tv
unit? I understand that it can be dialed up to any ISP, and is not
restricted to a proprietary service like WebTV.
