<chuckle> That's exactly what I'm doing. "Fire on the Mountain" is me,
just me, and will always be just me. (Unlike some other people who start
companies, I'm not interested in getting bigger or getting rich doing it.
I don't think those are worthwhile goals, and so I don't expend any effort
toward them. I think it's kinda unlikely it'll happen by accident. ;-) )
You're certainly right that it's not easy -- but I frequently ask
myself this question:
Is this hard because it's inherently hard, or is it hard because
the business world is so insular and idiosyncratic in its practices
that it's gratuitously hard?
I rather suspect the answer is some of both.
(Example of idiosyncratic: the uniform of the business world [for men]
is the suit and tie. Why, exactly, is that? What purpose does it serve,
beyond lining the coffers of the makers of the uniform (who, by the way,
are quite good at running ad campaigns that reinforce their position)?
What about the business world would be different if tomorrow, by some
stroke of magic, every single person out there *stopped* wearing them?)
